Significant Snow Advisory for 12.16-12.17
We are monitoring another winter storm heading our way for the upcoming weekend. It is far to early to commit to a forecast model, but the latest trends are showing a potential storm accumulation of up to 6” or more. We are expecting the storm to arrive Friday evening and extend throughout the day Saturday with a break in the action on Saturday morning. At this time, the precision of the forecast is moderate at best. We will continue to monitor and update you with any significant changes. As the focus becomes more clear we will set up an operational response to the storm and let you know how that will unfold. ● Snow is likely from Friday afternoon through late Saturday evening
● Snow accumulation of at least 3-6 inches appears probable for most of the area
● This is still a developing situation; please monitor for later updates
We are continuing to monitor a developing weather situation for the period Friday afternoon through late Saturday evening of this week. Measurable snow appears likely across the local region during this time period. Although it is still early in the monitoring stages, present indications suggest that snow will begin around 12 Noon or shortly afterward on Friday and continue through late Saturday evening before ending around Midnight on Saturday night. A gradual accumulation of snow
appears likely through that rather broad time period - based on present indications. At this time, preliminary indications suggest that 3-6 inches of snow accumulation is likely across most of the local area with this event. At this time the probability of this forecast snow amount being reduced appears low, while the probability of this forecast snow amount being increased is moderate. We will continue evaluating trends and issue updates as the situation becomes more clear.
This product will likely be upgraded to at least a "Snow Advisory" in the next update if expected conditions hold.
This is a developing weather situation with much uncertainty still involved. We will continue to monitor the latest trends and issue updates as conditions warrant.
