Weather Advisory for Sunday 12.4.16

December 4, 2016

We are operating under a Significant Weather Advisory for Sunday, December 4th.  We are expecting to see a bit of light snow move into the area mid-morning tomorrow and extend throughout the better portion of the day.  We expect this event to end mid-afternoon.  Currently, the forecast is calling for a possibility of accumulation reaching as much as 2” although that accumulation is expected to be isolated to grassy and elevated surfaces.  At this time, we are not expecting significant accumulation on paved surfaces.  As always I will continue to monitor conditions on the ground,  local, regional and targeted forecasts, and create an operational response if necessary.  Please see below for the latest update from our friends at Weather Guidance.  You can expect an update tomorrow as conditions begin to take focus.  Please do not hesitate to call text or email with any questions.  The best method to reach me before, during and after a snow event is via mobile phone/text at 630.824.7918.  Thank you for your continued confidence in Rudey Landscape!

WeatherGuidance continues a Significant Weather Advisory for Rudey Landscape

Valid:

09:00 AM Tomorrow until 06:00 PM Tomorrow

Expected impacts:

  • Periods of light snow appear likely during much of the daytime hours on Sunday

  • Some light accumulation of generally 1-2 inches appears likely with this event

  • The best chance for snow accumulation will be on grassy, elevated and other colder surfaces

  • The precipitation may mix at times with light rain and/or sleet especially on Sunday afternoon

Discussion:

A weak weather disturbance will move across the local area on Sunday, producing periods of light snow. The precipitation may mix at times with sleet and/or light rain, especially on Sunday afternoon.

At this time, we expect periods of light snow to develop by around 9am on Sunday, and to continue into the midday and afternoon hours before ending between 3pm and 6pm on Sunday.

Ground conditions are relatively warm, and the precipitation is expected to generally be light in intensity. Both of these factors are expected to mitigate the amount of accumulation that is allowed to take place (as well as the fact that the precipitation will likely be mixed with light rain and/or sleet at times especially on Sunday afternoon). With that said, we expect about 1-2 inches of snow accumulation across most of the local area, especially on grassy, elevated and other colder surfaces.

We will continue monitoring the situation and issue updates as conditions warrant.

Forecaster Confidence (Low/Moderate/High):

High
